SPECIAL KIND OF CRAZY
Written by Greg Brazinsky & Jamie Floyd
I was 20 when my mom dropped me off At the Navy recruiter
She said “anything but the Army”
So that’s what I did
Before I knew it I was riding around in a tombstone Looking for bombs, til I got hit
5 deployments, I lost a sergeant
And saw things no one should ever see
I shut down to everyone
Til her love got a hold of me
You have to be a special kinda crazy To do what I do
But she wasn’t scared to use her heart ‘Cause she’s a little crazy too
She pushed and pulled me out of the dark I was in I started healing now I’m almost me again
She changed my life when she showed up
With her special kinda crazy love
Now I’ve got 2 little babies
I would’ve never known without her
And the wide open heart I used to have
And I’m reaching out to guys like me
Who come home looking for someone to listen And help bring ‘em back
She’s the reason my whole world
Ain’t all upside down
Without her I don’t wanna know where I’d be right now
You have to be a special kinda crazy To do what I do
But she wasn’t scared to use her heart ‘Cause she’s a little crazy too
She pushed and pulled me out of the dark I was in I started healing now I’m almost me again
She changed my life when she showed up
With her special kinda crazy love
She always says I picked the job that would kill me the fastest She ain’t wrong... but she keeps me laughing
You have to be a special kinda crazy To do what I do
But she wasn’t scared to use her heart
‘Cause she’s a little crazy too
She pushed and pulled me out of the dark I was in I started healing now I’m almost me again
She changed my life when she showed up
Thank God she showed up
With her special kinda crazy love

“The 1%”
Written by Del Rodriguez & Jamie Floyd
God only makes a handful of hearts
Who can stand back up after falling apart
We signed up for the worst of the worst Nobody wanted to go, we said take me first And then there’s a reason we make it through That’s because yeah, we’re built for that too The 1% is us
In more ways than one
The first ones in, the last ones out
We don’t break easy, don’t back down We’re made of something stronger
Built to last a lot longer
And coming home it’s easy to forget What to do with pain we hadn’t faced yet But we were born for every kinda war The 1% is us in more ways than 1
I’m the kind of happy that just doesn’t happen Found the kind of love that keeps on lasting What are the odds I’d be so blessed
That everything I lost, I’d get back again
I didn’t know it yet but I’d find out
I was the one percent then just like I am right now, we’re
Th first ones in, the last ones out
We don’t break easy, don’t back down We’re made of something stronger
Built to last a lot longer
And coming home it’s easy to forget What to do with pain we hadn’t faced yet But we were born for every kinda war The 1% is us in more ways than 1
The demons know where to find me
But I wish ‘em good luck
‘Cause they ain’t no match for what I’m made of Yeah I’m the..
First one in
The last one out
I don’t break easy
I don’t back down yeah...
We’re made of something stronger Built to last a lot longer
And coming home it’s easy to forget
What to do with pain we hadn’t faced yet But we were born for every kinda war The 1% is us in more ways than one

The Forgotten Forty
Written by: Robert Loughhead & Steve Williams
They raised the flag today
I snapped a sharp salute
I watched the people passing by
Who’d never have a clue
The things they can’t imagine
Go running through my head
When I think about my brothers
All who died and all who bled
With every rising of the sun
I thank God we won
I ain’t lookin’ for no glory
I came here today to write a song
And celebrate my story
Tell the tale of
How we became the
Forgotten forty
There we were in Mogadishu
When we got the call
Bullets flying everywhere
Our backs against the wall
It’s miracle we made it in
To that there is no doubt
But I still wonder to this day
How the hell we made it out
CH:
We had a Blackhawk down
We cleared it through the night
The sun was rising early
Bringing on the dreaded light
Some might say we lost the fight
But I’m here to tell the truth
At the end of the day
We finished what we came to do

Purple Heart
Darren Lemorta/Skip Black Doc 5-10-23
We said what could’ve been our last goodbye With me heading off to war a half a dozen times I was worried about what’s coming
While she was worried about what’s going
I wish I could’ve seen it from her side
She didn’t know how to be a deployed soldiers wife But through every tour she was there
Standing by my side
I didn’t know what she was going through
Too caught up in myself
Doing my best to make it back alive
For every soldier there’s a woman back at home Going through a different hell
But doing it alone
Waiting for the worst while hoping for the best I’ll be trying to pay her back til my last breath So for all the times I left her in the dark
She’s the one who deserves a Purple Heart
She hid all the pain she felt from her family and friends
Just for me to fly back off and let her feel it all again
Said she felt just like her heart was being ripped out of her chest She wished that she could go fight by my side every time I left
Chorus
When I need a shoulder she’s the place I go She’s the strongest woman I know
For every soldier there’s a woman back at home Going through a different hell
But doing it alone
Waiting for the worst while hoping for the best I’ll be trying to pay her back til my last breath So for all the times I left her in the dark Wondering if I’d make it back there to her arms She’s the one who deserves a Purple Heart
